I can't believe how fast the first month of the school year went! It's like you blink and all of a sudden it's fall and the school year is flying by. We have had a great year so far in PE. The 5th graders have played soccer and football and are working hard at our fitness tests at the moment. The 1st and 2nd graders have perfected their locomotor skills and have also been working hard at their fitness tests.
Some things to do at home to improve fitness:
-Play outside!!! Playing outside builds up cardiovascular endurance and allows you to perform sports and activities longer and with more energy.
-Stretch!!! Simple stretches will help your muscles move throughout a greater range of motion. Being flexible also prevents injury.
-Sleep well and eat well!!! Good sleeping and eating habits are just as important to fitness as exercise. Mix in some fruits and veggies at lunch and drink plenty of water. Set a bed time and stick to it. There is nothing like feeling refreshed after a good nights sleep.
Happy October!
