Well I missed the last two months of updates and so many things have happened, so sit back and find out what has been going on in PE at Albany Elementary.
First off, what a year for winter sports for the Albany Huskies! The wrestling team sent 2 grapplers to state and both of those young men were able to place. The boys basketball team was able to tie for a conference title and ended the year with 21 wins. The Girls basketball team only lost 2 games all season and won their conference and made it all the way to the section finals before losing to a very tough Fergus Falls team. The community should be proud of these young men and women's accomplishments. With all those sports coming to an end, the focus now switches to spring activities. Lets hope that the weather allows us to enjoy the baseball, softball, and tracksters.
The students at Albany Elementary have just finished the tumbling unit and everyone was able to stay safe while learning to improve flexibility, strength, and balance. Swimming is on the horizon and that is always a PE favorite of the students. I am looking forward to springtime and being able to go outside. It has been a long winter and some nice weather will hit the spot and get me out of the winter blues.
