Halloween is over and we are closing in on Thanksgiving. Hopefully for those of you who were able to Trick or Treat enjoyed yourselves and stayed safe. With the fall sports winding down, winter sports are going to be starting up and new seasons will start for the basketball and wrestling teams. In 5th grade PE class, we are starting our team building unit this week. Students will have an opportunity to work together and build leadership skills to complete tasks. This is always challenging as most of the students are independent and would rather do things alone. I really enjoy this unit as it shows me what student is willing to slow down, help others, and work towards a common team goal.
The 1st and 2nd graders are starting the locomotor rhythm unit. This fun time combines our locomotor skills with music and gives us a number of different movement challenges to action packed songs. I better make sure I do a little extra stretching so I can keep up with the students. Music is such powerful movement tool. It's amazing how much the students love to listen and move to music.
I hope everyone is able to enjoy the rest of their fall. We all know what is on the horizon. Continue to get outside as much as you can and cheer on those Vikings and Patriots!!!
